EDU4104 Workplace Research Project

Description:

Situated within the social-constructivist paradigm, this unit provides opportunities for pre-service teachers to engage in the knowledge construction of models, concepts and issues of designing and implementing school-based project that may or may not involve ICT-mediated activities.  It covers four interrelated ideas of designing school-based projects to take up the affordances of ICT:

  • Complexities of the Learning Environment in Schools
  • ICT for Engaged Learning: Potentials and Parameters
  • From Transmission Model to Social-Constructivism: Innovative Strategies and Tools
  • Pivotal Role of the Teachers: Presenter, Facilitator, Designer and Researcher

 

In this unit, pre-service teachers undertake a school-based research project. The topic is negotiated between the school, course coordinator and the student.
