Description:

This unit draws together aspects of orchestration, harmony and musical structure of the twentieth century in a practical way through the composition of original works.  Exemplar works from the Modernist Era to the present are studied and emulated through the creation of original compositions in various styles.  This unit is recommended as an introduction to composition and for students wishing to pursue a career in film of theatre music writing.
