ERV2201 Active Citizenship

Description:

This unit will introduce Society and Environment (S&E). It will comprise a brief overview of Place and Space, Time Continuity and Change, Resources, Natural and Social Systems and Culture. The overview will provide background for a deep understanding of active citizenship and the connected notion of reorienting towards a sustainable future. Student teachers will use a critically reflective practice approach to build on personal experience to develop S&E theories-for-use. The unit will include environmental education and Indigenous studies, and all examples will pertain to these fields. Lecturers and student teachers will model and practise critical, collaborative and student centred approaches to S&E teaching.
