Description:
This unit seeks to examine the various approaches to art production in relation to the developing thematic interests of the student. Within this, relevant cultural, historical and ethical issues need to be examined to encourage an understanding of the complexities of cross-cultural and cross disciplinary communication. Social and historical issues will be examined in the context of studio specific practice, to provide an informed understanding of possibilities for the presentation and communication of ideas. At this level, students should be able to display a clear understanding of the conceptual, historical and ethical issues within their thematic concerns.
