SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ARTS
Credit Points: 15
Prerequisites:
VIS1208 Studio Practice 1 (Studio Foundation) - Level 2
VIS1209 Studio Practice 2 (Studio Foundation) - Level 2

Description:
This unit introduces media specific approaches to contemporary practice through a range of practical workshops. Students may chose a specialist pathway through a study program in one project area, or follow an interdisciplinary mode by aligning projects from a number of specialist studio offerings at this level. Units at this level seek to develop basic visual and technical skills acquired in first year through a range of skill based workshops, which in turn encourage a dialogue between research methodology, conceptual development and advanced technical processes. This unit is undertaken in one of the following studio disciplines: Painting, Print Media, Textiles, Sculpture, Electronic Arts and Design.

This unit establishes a relationship between research methodology and practice through technical workshops in material and virtual environments. These workshops allow a studio specific approach to new technologies.
