Description:
This unit is designed to enable teachers to improve their ability to teach in the area of Aboriginal Studies. It emphasises the rationale and areas of Aboriginal Studies, and the knowledge, skills and values objectives involved in teaching in this area. It is also concerned with developing appropriate resources, the planning, preparing and sequencing of activities, evaluating progress, dealing with current and controversial issues, and developing an overall programme in Aboriginal Studies within the context of the Society and Environment Learning Area. It has a focus on the management of the involvement of Aboriginal people within the programme.
