Description:
This unit is designed to provide an in depth training in the values area as it pertains to the teaching of social studies. Areas of emphasis include an historical perspective on moral values education, theories pertaining to values education, strategies for handling values and controversial issues in the context of the K-10 Social Studies Syllabus together with an examination of the values component found in the new Western Australian Curriculum Frameworks for Society and Environment.
