SCE5114 Science and Cognition

Description:
This unit focuses on the cognitive processes associated with concept learning and problem solving in science. Participants will develop skills of probing student conceptions, assessing and representing cognitive structure, and tracing the cognitive operations used to perform academic tasks; these techniques will be applied to the classroom. Good learning behaviours and constructivist approaches to teaching for conceptual change will be explored.
