Description:
Social marketing is the marketing of ideas, as distinct from the marketing of goods or services. The main applications of social marketing to date have been in the areas of health, contraception, safety, and conservation. The unit will also include not-for profit sector marketing of charities, government services, etc. Students will analyse social marketing or not-for-profit programs and outline the development of a program in a context of their choice, with reference to appropriate consumer research, market segmentation, creation of a social product, and ethical considerations.
