MIS3351 Strategic Information Systems Management III
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
Credit Points: 15

Description:
This unit aims to provide IT professionals with an understanding of the major issues facing managers in the effective use of information technology in contemporary organisations. In particular, students will consider the reasons why so many executives today question the rate of return on IT investments. To understand why this is the case, and to understand how the situation can be improved, a number of challenges will be discussed, such as that of ensuring that investments in IT are aligned with business goals and objectives.

The unit is not a technical unit. It focuses on how best managers can use IT in modern organisations to maximise the long-term well-being of that enterprise.
