EDU4584 Strategies for Learning Difficulties and Language Disorders
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Credit Points: 15

Description:

This unit examines the psychological and educational problems of children with learning difficulties and learning disabilities.   The process of assessing literacy based skills and analysing student work samples is a strong focus in this unit that leads to the selection of appropriate strategies and approaches to remediate skill deficits.    The unit has a highly practical component and includes the assessment and compilation of a case study about a child, adolescent or adult with a learning difficulty or learning disability.  Empirical findings are the basis of all decisions about interventions reviewed in this unit and students are encouraged to apply this process when considering new strategies or approaches.
