EDS3101 Students With Special Needs in the Secondary Classroom

Description:
The main focus of the unit is on the education of adolescents with disabilities in the secondary classroom. The aim is to develop an awareness in teachers of the needs of adolescents with academic, physical and behavioural disabilities. A second aim is to give teachers an opportunity to develop strategies that have high utility in the secondary classroom. The teacher will also be made aware of the integration and inclusion policies that are operative in Australian school systems. National and state policies in the area of the education of students with disabilities will also be examined.
