This unit introduces students to mining and resource law with an emphasis on Western Australia. The unit will introduce students to the geology of natural resources in Western Australia, public and private ownership of minerals and international resource contracts including the impact of native title claims. Emphasis will be placed on the role and decisions of the Mining Warden's Court, ministerial decisions and state agreements.
