Description:

This unit provides students with an understanding of the dynamics of news construction and the relationship between the media and the criminal justice system. This unit examines the relationship between the police and the media, politics and the media and media representations of courts and corrections. This unit also provides students with understanding of media portrayals of particular groups and crime categories.
