This unit explores the diversity of the animal kingdom, from simple protozoa to higher animals such as arthropods and vertebrates. Animals are studied in evolutionary sequence, relating body structure and complexity to habitat and lifestyle. The unit introduces students to important zoological laboratory techniques.
