Description:

This unit provides a professionally supervised, contracted learning experience in employment relations. It emphasises the use of theoretical knowledge in applied situations that involve planning, researching, and presenting outcomes in written and/or oral form to both the host organisation and to student peers. Students complete a practical task for the host organisation that links with the key strategic objectives of the organisation and the student’s own learning objectives, and an industry project that takes a holistic view of the organisation and its industry and integrates theoretical and practical knowledge. It is recommended that students take this unit in their final semester. Prior approval must be sought from the Unit Coordinator by the student before the Practicum commences; no retrospective credit will be given for unsupervised work experience.
