SPE2100 Computerised Analysis:Sensori-Motor Systems

Description:

Students will study the normal structure, function and innervation of the respiratory, phonatory, speech production and hearing systems. They will learn to use acoustic analysis, videofluoroscopic imaging, and the instruments used to assess swallowing disorders, hearing loss, and fluency disorders.  The students will classify characteristic patterns of measurement associated with pathologies of voice, fluency, hearing and swallowing.  They will evaluate results within the context of current literature and create reports with reference to the structure of the WHO International Classification of Function II framework.
