MIS2702 Enterprise Resource Planning

Description:

The aim of this unit is to examine how Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications are implemented.  The concepts and framework of ERP are introduced and methods for establishing sound controls to meet organisational objectives are identified.  Students will explore the ERP implementation cycle and the functional integration between ERP modules.  Business and supply chain management processes such as Just in Time and MRP II will be examined and an ERP application configured to provide these functions.

 

The unit has a major lab-based practical component where the features of Microsoft Dynamics (AX), proposed to be the world’s fastest growing ERP, are configured by students to mirror a business implementation.
