PPA4250 Second Professional Practice

Description:
The second Professional Practice is a Designated Unit which builds on the experiences gained by Pre-service Teachers in their first Professional Practice. Pre-service Teachers will have opportunities to work with Mentor Teachers and their classes, to learn and practise essential teaching skills and critically evaluate and reflect on their own experiences. Pre-service Teachers should also actively seek to gain insights into the complex and dynamic inter-relationship within the teaching–learning situation, and to increase their knowledge and understanding of the work of secondary teachers and the culture of secondary schools. This Professional Practice unit is a 3 week block practice. All students are required to be available during the scheduled Professional Practice periods as per the School of Education Calendar and to give a full-time commitment to the school/centre during the scheduled days. All Students are required to adhere to the School of Education’s Professional Practice Rules and Procedures and Code of Professional Conduct for ECU Pre-service Teachers. All students 18 years of age and over will require a current DET National Criminal History Record Check (CRC) and a current Working with Children Check (WWC) before commencing this Professional Practice.
