Description:

This unit reflects on contemporary issues facing the profession today.  It examines what it means to be a professional today; the context of ethics and corporate governance for the accountant and the place of accounting in a green world.  It also examines contemporary developments in the public and non-profit sectors, reflects on the analysis of financial reports and critically evaluates developments in the world of accounting as they take place globally.  The unit provides you with the opportunity to engage in the critical evaluation of these issues through written analysis, seminar discussions and case studies.
