Description:

This unit introduces important human service principles including social role valorisation/normalisation, as it has been developed by Professor Wolf Wolfensberger, and the PASSING evaluation instrument. The implications of SRV for people, human services and society will be examined including: the least restrictive alternative; the developmental principle; the dignity of risk; and the movement to establish natural supports for, and empowerment of, people with disabilities and their families.
