K44 Bachelor of Arts (Education) / Bachelor of Social Science

The double degree program delivers two Bachelor degrees in a four-year course. Graduates receive a professional degree in secondary teaching and a recognised Arts degree that provides access to additional career options in the public sector or private industry.  The double degree program provides a realistic and relevant balance between professional education studies and content studies for prospective secondary school teachers of home economics.  Students enrol in education studies and Arts subjects, and undertake teaching practices in years two, three and four.  The course includes an emphasis on theoretical and practical dimensions in the areas of family studies, textiles, hospitality and food science as well as relevant studies in Education.
