NPH3101 Epidemiology

Description:
This unit provides an introduction to the epidemiological concepts necessary for studying the distribution and determinants of disease in human populations. Topics covered include: nature and role of epidemiology; methods used to analyse and describe the frequency of disease and health risk factors; epidemiological research design; assessment of risk; measurement error and bias; epidemiological associations and causality; surveillance of disease; and screening for disease.
