MAN2145 Human Resource Management II

Description:

The importance of strategic human resource management cannot be overlooked in the current climate in Australia, particularly as Australia competes in a global marketplace.  Strategic human resource management has become increasingly important as organisations appreciate that achieving a sustainable competitive advantage is reliant on their most important asset: their people.  This unit has been designed to give students an understanding of the strategic importance of people (human resources) in achieving organisational goals.

This unit builds upon MAN2145 Human Resource Management II by examining the links between the human resource management practices and the strategic management processes of various kinds of organisations.  The focus of this course is on the critical evaluation of human resource strategies in the context of various managerial perspectives, constraints and opportunities in order that employees can be managed in a way so as to achieve competitive advantage.
