Description:
This unit introduces the environment of international accounting in terms of current institutional and regulatory arrangements. The unit covers accounting standards and practices in selected Asia/Pacific countries. It also compares the accounting thoughts and practices of Asian countries with those of English speaking countries and continental Europe. Accounting issues related to multinational corporations are examined in considerable detail. Special issues related to accounting in developing countries are also covered and compared with developed countries.
