This unit introduces strategies for analysing media texts, focusing on issues such the body, ethnicity, the child and family as constructed by the media. Students investigate the relation between reality and representation in a range of genres such as the sit-com and reality TV. The unit considers the implications of ‘new’ technology, virtual worlds and globalisation. | |||
