T10 University Diploma for Education Assistants

INTRODUCTION:

The University Diploma for Education Assistants is a fee paying course designed to enable Teacher/Education Assistants to understand how they can effectively support Teachers in facilitating children's learning.

 

The Program is suitable for both experienced Teacher/Education Assistants and those contemplating working within the profession.

 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements to enter the Program include: Completion of Year 10 at school or equivalent; ability to meet ECU undergraduate language requirements; relevant life experience beyond year 10, and must be at least 17 years of age (18 years of age at the time of graduation).  A genuine interest in children and learning is also required.

 

Admission to the Program is based on completion of a competitive writtten application.

 

COURSE FEES:

The Program fee of $1400 is paid through an initial deposit of $125 and 15 regular unit payments of $85 each.  Students pay their $85 unit fee one week in advance of the scheduled unit date.

 

Please note that unit fees must be kept up-to-date.

 

Students will also be required to purchase basic stationary items and basic materials for some units.

This course is available on Joondalup, and Bunbury Campuses.
 
MODE OF STUDY
This course is available by Full-time, or Part-time mode.
 
MODE OF DELIVERY
This course is available in the following mode of delivery - On-campus.

Students study the Program by attending classes conducted during weekend sessions (Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00am - 3:30pm) and through completing assignment work. Students attend approximately one two day weekend session every three weeks for 12 months to complete the Program.

The University Diploma for Education Assistants consists of 15 units totalling 120 credit points (7 units x 5 credit points; 7 units x 10 credit points; 1 x 15 credit points).
