M17 Bachelor of Education (Primary)

The Bachelor of Education (Primary) qualifies graduates to teach junior, middle and upper primary students in State and Independent Schools systems.  Students can also explore opportunities in community focused positions that relate to education and children.  An exciting component of the course includes students being given access to a laptop for their first year of study.

 

The award is granted after the successful completion of four years of fulltime (equivalent ) study  and aims to develop professional knowledge, competencies, dispositions and professional competencies.

 

The degree includes compulsory units in education, curriculum and pedagogical studies.  Pathway units might be taught outside the School of Education.

SPECIAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

YEAR THREE - SEMESTER 1
This curriculum enrichment project provides a foundation for completing a research dissertation. A small group of high achieving students will be invited to undertake the Research pathway option. This option is designed to meet the needs of students wishing to undertake research based higher degree study in the course of their future career. The pathway is designed to develop research skills and a research-oriented, reflective approach to teaching.
