V55 Bachelor of Arts (Education)/Bachelor of Arts (Creative Arts)

This double degree program is primarily designed to prepare students for a career in teaching the creative and performing arts in the secondary school system.  Students will specialise in either Drama or Art or Music Studies.  Students combine professional education studies with specialist content studies in two teaching areas. Graduates will have a qualification in both Education and the Creative Arts and will be highly skilled and knowledgeable practitioners allowing them to access a wide range of career-related opportunities.

This course is a concurrent form of teacher education where the student is able to combine studies in Education with Drama or Art or Music. This combination is maintained throughout the four years of study.

A feature of the course is an extensive program of professional practice in secondary schools that commences in year 3 and culminates in the Assistant Teacher Program (10 weeks) in the final year.

The course provides a clear balance of content studies, professional studies and professional practice.
