K09 Bachelor of Forensic Investigation

This course seeks to develop educated practitioners possessing academic knowledge and practical skills in forensic investigations supported by key law and justice subjects.  This course will suit students seeking a rigorous and relevant academic program of study containing a high level of practical skills.  Students will also possess the skills that are required for entry level positions in criminology, justice and science professions.  This approach enhances student choice upon graduation and allows for specialisation in fourth year.  Students will complete units of study in law, justice and science that relate to forensic investigations.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Students are required to complete 360 credit points (24 units). These units facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the nature of criminology, justice, law and science and the principal disciplines that these areas of study as they relate to forensic investigations. Those principal disciplines are law, psychology and science. The sequencing of units allows students to enter a research based honours year.
