IST3162 Information Literacy and Life Long Learners

Description:
This unit will focus on the librarian as a partner in lifelong learning. It will explain the importance of information literacy to developing the lifelong learner. It will examine the theories that underpin both information literacy and lifelong learning and the ongoing debate about the application of those theories in libraries, educational institutions and the wider community. It will also discuss the needs of clients who require specialised learning support and resources and discuss the development and management of programmes and services for them.
