ERS2202 A Project Approach to Science

Description:

This unit, together with ERS2201, provides an opportunity for students to develop knowledge and skills for teaching science to lower secondary level. Students will have the opportunity to develop the skills and understandings necessary to support integrated programming across multiple learning areas. Negotiated curriculum will be explored providing a backdrop to the development of medium to long term planning. A focus will be placed on approaches to developing higher-order thinking among students. Concepts in the area of Natural and Processed Materials will be covered. This unit is linked to work place practice and students will be required to link theory from the unit to their observations and experiences in school settings.
