SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
Credit Points: 15
Prerequisites:
MAN7111 Advanced Seminar in Management VII

Description:
This unit develops core practical skills for general managers and executives working in modern organisations that are knowledge-based, have high levels of technological advancement and experience discontinuous change. While knowledge management can be assisted by new technologies, this unit goes beyond technology to address the creation, use, interpretation and sharing of a broad variety of ‘knowledges’ for competitive advantage and social value. The course covers techniques for knowledge creation, the development of strategic intelligence and organisational systems, classification and evaluation of knowledges, the maintenance of corporate memory, and intellectual capital. It examines current industry practices through case studies.
