Techniques used in this course will include aural recognition of musical intervals, scales, progressions, rhythms and chords. Students are expected to transcribe aural exercises and rhythmic dictation as well as perform call and response exercises on their instruments.
This unit will develop each student’s overall aural ability to cope with jazz performance situations at an intermediate level. Selected computer programs enabling the student to increase relevant skills at their own pace will be provided. | |||
