Description:
This unit is designed to give students an appreciation of the achievements and pace of development in genetics, and how it will significantly affect medicine over the coming decade. Including an overview of the significance of genetic factors in determining human morbidity and mortality. Important examples of human genetic disorders and the current strategies for their diagnosis and prevention will be discussed, and an insight into ongoing research in the field of human and medical genetics will be provided.
