T02 University Certificate in Psychological Studies

INTRODUCTION

This course is designed for students who are interested in obtaining a brief overview of the discipline of psychology.  This 12-month part-time course provides students with introductory knowledge about some of the latest theoretical issues impacting on psychology and introduces some practical skills training in interpersonal communication and groupwork.  Successful completion of this University Certificate will allow students entry into the Diploma course.

 

COURSE LOCATION AND MODE OF STUDY

The course is available by part-time internal study on Joondalup campus.  It is also available externally.

 

SPECIAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

No prerequisites.

 

Students for whom English is not their first language must have proof of language proficiency.  This can be the Cambridge Proficiency Test at Grade "C" level, IELTS of 6.5 or a TOEFL minimum score of 550 including TWE of 5.  For European students, other equivalents may apply.

 

COURSE STRUCTURE

Each unit involves three hours contact time per week during the 13-week semester.  Psychology units comprise 100% of the program.
