This unit provides opportunities for students to develop their skills as a youth worker and their competence as a professional youth worker in a supervised youth work setting. This opportunity will enable students to apply theoretical concepts to their practice as youth workers, and to show that they can work effectively with groups of young people. Students will be required to make sound professional judgements in difficult situations, autonomously, ethically and taking account of agency policy. The unit has a field-based practicum component.
