Financial Accounting III is the final unit in the Bachelor of Business (accounting major) which addresses issues specifically related to financial accounting. This unit builds on topics addressed in previous financial accounting units. This includes issues related to the recognition and recording of revenues and expenses as well as equities at a conceptual and also applied level. Emphasis is also placed on the preparation and presentation of group financial statements and related conceptual and practical issues.

Specific topics covered in this unit include introduction to group accounts including accounting for outside equity interests and intercompany transactions, accounting for construction contracts, extractive industries, accounting for income tax, earnings per share, cash flow statements, accounting for foreign operations, joint ventures, segment reporting, and accounting for employee benefits.
