Description:
This unit looks at the historical development of family medicine and compares a number of definitions of family practice. The doctor is asked to reflect on their own understanding of their clinical practice. The notions of first contact care and commitment to personal care are explored. Key topics include the family as the unit of care, doctor/patient communication and trends in family practice.
