POL3130 Themes in Global Politics

Description:

This unit takes as its major focus, the trends towards interconnectedness in world political and economic systems. Central to the unit is a critical examination of the theory of globalisation in terms of late twentieth century capitalism and the responses developed by political systems. Associated themes will be the challenges posed to the sovereignty of nation states, the potential for global political cooperation, the growth of inequality within and between nations and the extent of political volatility and instability.
