SWK3106 Social Work Research

Description:
This unit introduces students to issues of research in social work practice and policy. It begins examining the contribution made by research to the development of social work practice and to the shaping of social welfare policy. ‘Practitioner research’, issues of inter-subjectivity in situations where the social work researcher exercises social power and ways of undertaking participatory research are examined (in relation to gender, race and culture and social class).
