Description: | |||
Studio exercises and field trips will be the foundation for students to explore the technical and conceptual components of landscape painting. Formal processes such as colour, tone, texture, and composition will be introduced alongside introductory workshops into oil, watercolour and acrylic paints. Students will be introduced to the history of landscape painting from Western, Eastern, and indigenous Australian perspectives. Through observation and analysis of local landscapes, they will then identify points of difference or similarities with these traditions. The relationship between drawing and painting will be a key relationship in the research, development, and resolution of final works. Full Unit Outline | |||
