MTP5101 Devised Collaborative Practice
SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ARTS
Credit Points: 30

Description:

This unit is designed to establish a collaborative performance-making ethos which initially ignores established practitioner roles and relationships. Instead the unit imposes a precise set of performance making criteria (e.g., complex multi-focused thematic potential; nominated performance space per group; a specific number and range of theatrical systems engaged; performance duration, performance date plus specific assessment criteria). The entire cohort will engage in skills sessions and devising workshops, with a range of practitioners, with emphasis placed on strategy, process and potential outcome developing in all students self and peer-assessment processes clearly linked to formal assessment bands used throughout the academic year. It will promote and develop process-focused writing/documentation/analytical strategies leading to a formally assessed written submission.
