PPA4350 Final Professional Practice
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Credit Points: 20

Description:

The Final Practice for the Graduate Diploma of Education provides the  Pre-service Teachers with an opportunity to further consolidate the connection between theory and practice and build upon the experiences gained in the Professional Practice program. Pre-service Teachers plan and prepare appropriate learning activities suitable to the needs and interests of the students in their classes. Typically, Pre-service Teachers will teach in both major and minor areas during this Professional Practice. The unit gives the Pre-service Teacher the opportunity for continuous teaching for a longer period of time in a more realistic situation. It provides the Pre-service Teacher with the opportunity to further acquire and refine teaching skills, and to function as an autonomous teacher.

The Final Teaching Practice is a 7 week block practice where the Pre-service Teacher is required to give a full time commitment in a secondary school.
