Description: | |||
This unit involves the undertaking of a professional practice in a school/centre. During the professional practice students work under the guidance of mentor teachers while engaging in a process of professional development, and have the opportunity to make well-informed connections between theory and practice. The unit takes the form of distributed days and a two week block, supported by on-campus lectures. Each year students must undertake professional practices. The assessment criteria for each of the outcomes listed becomes incrementally more complex over the four successive professional experiences. This reflects the development of teacher competence. The assessment criteria are further detailed in the professional practice guidelines appropriate to each professional practice. Full Unit Outline | |||
