In this unit, the student will explore socio-cultural perspectives within health care by first examining their own internalised value systems. The process of explaining the concept of culture from selected sociological frameworks and health models will enable students to work in groups to examine and develop their concept of culture and society within the social structure in which they live. Australian Indigenous culture will be used for focused comparison with other groups in order to illustrate principles pertinent to health and wellness issues. Full Unit Outline | |||
