In this unit students will be introduced to community development theory and action, and the application of such approaches to health promotion issues. Emphasis is placed on applying the theoretical approaches to communities with skills to engage productively and harmoniously with diverse cultures. Global and local approaches to communities are explored with practical opportunities to interact with agencies working in community development.
