This unit introduces the student to the broad area of occupational health. Topics include: dimensions of the occupational health problem; the range of workplace hazards and their health effects; basic principles of hazard control; explanations of the causes of accidents, injury and disease; the legal framework for occupational health and safety in Australia; and a critical examination of alternative perspectives for addressing occupational health issues. | |||
