This unit will give students a fundamental and practical understanding of the workings of the financial system. The unit will concentrate on money markets, debt markets, equity markets, foreign exchange and derivative markets; and will review the major participants in each of these markets, their functions and relationships and their role in the economy. Students will also investigate the different options for and implications of regulation. There will be a strong focus on current and emerging issues both domestically and internationally. | |||
