This unit will introduce students to the basic skills of communication and counselling and to the management of conflict. It will provide students with a practical knowledge of the skills needed for effective communication and the application of these skills as counsellors. The unit will also cover the theories relating to conflict so that students are able to apply them within a professional setting.
